I must commend you on a truly fascinating design. My wife and I love it.  I spent a week renting nearby and staring at your creation from across the bay. I knew that I would end up being haunted by it if I did not end up owning the home you designed.

Mark transformed our dank, depressing garden space into an expansive, sophisticated apartment. He gets how hard small spaces have to work to achieve their potential, and he makes it happen, balancing practical needs with aesthetic considerations. Also, he's smart and fun to work with--very collaborative and imaginative.  Consider this a five-star rating!

We would have been lost without Mark. He rescued us when a gut renovation of our summer cottage went bad. Mark patiently sat with us and translated our vision into reality. He is the most reliable, quality-driven, and trustworthy  residential design/build professional we have ever worked with.

I met Mark when he bought a dilapidated building in a summer community I live in, tore it down and then designed and built with his own hands the most spectacular home in the community. I then hired him to gut renovate my kitchen and found myself working with someone who (I’ve never even heard of this before) treated my project with the care and interest of someone working on their own home. My kitchen is a masterpiece and Mark

was the Maestro!

I just repaired a little weather-related damage to my sunroom that Mark built.  The house-builder who did the work exclaimed that whoever built it must be a furniture maker as well since the attention to detail was so fine.  I gave him Mark's site and he was much impressed.  Thanks, Mark!

Our basement was a useless mess.  We had numerous designers and architects look at it and they all pretty much agreed that there was no way to really get all we wanted out of the space due to the heat ducts, pipes, and overall condition of the ceiling.

Mark was the only one we met with that was able to see our vision and design a plan to meet that vision.  We used a contractor he recommended, and based on his plans, we now have a living area with large screen tv (and of course the wii!) where our kids hang out with their friends, two office cubicles, a huge art table, closets, and a work out area.  Our basement has been described as nightclub chic, and we spend countless hours down there.

Mark is really easy to work with, doesn't try to impose his ideas on you, but rather takes your ideas and brings them to life.

Mark is a very talented and passionate designer. He's also one of the most professional people I have ever had work on my home. Very easy to deal with. Full of great ideas. And his experience as a builder gives him a great understanding of how those ideas will translate when realized beyond the plans. The guys who work for him were absolutely great, and in the end, the work was beautifully done.

Mark did such an amazing job on our apartment, I am seriously bummed out that we rent it out. Can’t wait for him to do the rest one day!

I just finished a big renovation of three floors of my brownstone with Mark as our designer.   I didn’t know Mark before but referenced him thoroughly and received glowing reports from his references.  He has not taken his architectural licensing exams so he is called a residential designer. However, he certainly knows his architecture. Mark was a pleasure to deal with throughout the project and the end result is absolutely beautiful.

Mark was passionate about coming up with design solutions that honored the brownstone ethos but also accommodated my desire for a spacious, bright living space.  He built a good relationship with my contractor and insured that the job met high quality standards. He was unfailingly helpful, cheerful, and knowledgeable. In addition, he was sensitive to my budget pressures.

I had the pleasure of working with Mark for several years as his architectural partner before my retirement last year. He is without a doubt the most conscientious, creative and pragmatic designer I know. He was also one of the few who knows not only how to build but how to do it effortlessly, beautifully, and on a tight budget. He did some creative realignment of our own house, adding small details that enhanced both its function and its grace. The quality of his workmanship was better than any other carpenters I've met.

John Sneider, Architect

I loved working with Mark on the design of our home.  From the exterior elevations to the smallest details, his creativity, enthusiasm, and rare aesthetic sensibilities produced a living space that still delights me years later.

Joseph Goldstein, owner

I can’t think of anybody besides Mark who has such high standards and ethics.  He’s only ever been in the business because he’s very passionate about what he does and he doesn’t really do it for monetary gain, which is a damn shame because he’s worth his weight in gold. What he did for my lighting studio is immeasurable. Whatever it cost me, I’ve gotten back two times over. It set me apart from everybody else. It was an amazing process to work with Mark. And I couldn’t have done it without him.
